Microcement Application

Microcement walls

Seamless, crack-resistant wall finishes that replace tiles, paint and panels with a single continuous surface — installed across London and Surrey.

Why choose microcement walls

Traditional wall finishes — paint, wallpaper, and tiles — each carry their own compromises. Paint flattens architectural detail and needs touching up. Wallpaper peels. Tiles introduce grout lines that age the space and trap dirt. Microcement walls eliminate all three problems with a continuous, sealed surface that flexes with the building.

Applied at just 2–3mm thick over your existing walls, microcement adds the industrial appeal of polished concrete with the warmth and refinement needed for residential rooms. The result reads as one uninterrupted plane — making rooms feel larger, calmer, and more cohesive.

Key benefits

Crack-resistant flexibility

Moves with building settlement, so seasonal expansion and contraction never compromise the finish.

Seamless feature walls

A single, continuous surface — no joints, no grout lines, no visible transitions between panels.

Eliminates paint cycles

Replaces the need for repaints every few years with a finish engineered to last decades.

Works on curved surfaces

Conforms to arches, columns, and irregular geometry that tiles and panels physically can't handle.

Easy to maintain

Wipes clean with a damp cloth. No grout to scrub, no paint to touch up — just a sealed continuous surface.

Modern minimalist look

Replaces the busy patterns of tiles and wallpaper with a calm, monolithic finish that lets the architecture breathe.

Where it works

  • Accent walls behind beds, fireplaces and dining areas
  • Full-room transformations for bedrooms, studies and media rooms
  • Curved or irregular geometry — arches, columns, niches
  • Integration with hidden lighting, switches and architectural details
  • Commercial spaces — receptions, restaurants, retail interiors
Finishes

Three signature finishes

All three finishes are available in any of our 40+ standard colours. Choose by tactility — smooth for gallery-like calm, stucco for handcrafted warmth, coarse for industrial character.

Smooth microcement finish

Smooth

The most refined of the three styles. Minimal visible trowel marks for a near-uniform appearance — best for contemporary, minimalist interiors.

Stucco effect microcement finish

Stucco effect

Visible hand-troweled texture with subtle cloud-like tonal variations. The classic Venetian plaster character — depth without busy pattern.

Coarse effect microcement finish

Coarse effect

Pronounced grain and tactile surface texture. The most expressive finish — best for industrial, rustic or characterful interiors.

How it works

Our installation process

From first site visit to final sealed surface, every project follows the same four-stage process. Exact timelines depend on the size of the area and substrate condition — we'll confirm a schedule with your quote.

  1. 01 Free

    Site visit & quote

Free in-person consultation across London & Surrey. We assess the substrate, talk through colour and finish options, and provide a fixed-price quote.

  2. 02

    Surface preparation

Existing substrate cleaned, repaired, primed and reinforced with fibreglass mesh where required. The hidden step that decides everything.

  3. 03

    Microcement application

Two base coats and two finish coats applied by hand at ~2–3mm total thickness. Each layer is troweled and sanded to your chosen texture.

  4. 04

    Sealing & protection

Pre-sealer and topsealer applied to lock in colour and create a fully washable, water-resistant surface. Cure time 24–48 hours before normal use.

Common questions

Microcement walls — FAQ

Can microcement be applied over my existing tiled walls?
Yes — that's one of its biggest advantages. Tiles are sanded, primed and reinforced with fibreglass mesh, then microcement is applied directly over the top at 2–3mm thickness. No demolition, no grout dust, no replacement plumbing.
How long does a typical wall installation take?
For a single feature wall expect 4–6 working days from prep to final seal. A full-room treatment of an average bedroom or living room is typically 8–12 working days, including cure time between coats.
Will I see joints between sections?
No. Microcement is applied wet onto wet across the whole surface so the finish reads as one continuous plane. The "seamless" look is the entire reason most clients choose it over tiles.
Is microcement really waterproof on walls?
Yes — once sealed with our two-stage sealer system, microcement walls are fully water-resistant. They're used in showers and wet-rooms regularly. For walls outside wet zones the sealer also makes them washable with mild detergent.
What colours and finishes are available?
Over 40 standard colours from cool greys and warm beiges to deep blues and earthy terracottas. Three finish styles — smooth, stucco, and coarse — each available in any colour. Custom colour matching is possible for design projects.
How do I look after a microcement wall?
Just wipe with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Avoid abrasive cleaners and don't drag heavy furniture against it. Re-application of topsealer every 5–7 years on high-traffic areas keeps the finish looking new for decades.
